Our group of 47 have just
arrived home from our 15 Day Traditional China adventure. Having organized a
group tour every spring for the past 15 years, I have no hesitation in saying
that the tour provided to us by Chinapac this year is the best tour we have ever
taken. Our City guides were colourful, made history come alive, and showed us
how to get around town on our free time to explore the fantastic markets. Our
hotels were absolutely first rate, and our meals were plentiful and reflected
each region we were visiting, with something for every taste. We were all so
impressed with how smoothly the whole tour ran. On behalf of our entire group, I
would like to thank you and your company for doing such an excellent job. We had
a fabulous time in China!

We want to let you know how much
we enjoyed our trip. This was the first organized tour we had been on - in the
past we had always travelled on our own. Our travelling companions were delightful
and I am sure everyone will agree that we had a great time.
The trip itself was exciting and we got to see all that we
had planned. It gave us a glimpse into both the old and new China. The hotels
were excellent, as was the food and entertainment and the local guides. We also
found the cost of the trip very reasonable. Having Peng You there was certainly
a bonus as he was extremely helpful with the language, food, etc., plus he is
always in such a good mood, which is infectious.
We would also like to commend our national guide, Edward
Xue. Edward is very well orgainized, professional, polite, helpful (he would
always go out of his way to go that extra mile) and, above all, he is
knowledgeable. He was responsible for the smoother-running of the trip - there
were no delays, we were always on schedule and Edward was always able to achieve
consensus by using his diplomatic skills.
We just wanted to express our satisfaction and to thank
you for organizing such excellent tours. Keep up the good work. We have had no
hesitation in recommending your company to our friends who are interested in
visiting China and the Orient.
Sincerely,
Bob and Marian Cummings

I was part of the group in the
22-day China Tour of Oct. 3rd to 24th and I wish to express the warmest
congratulations to all your personnel involved. I was accompanied by a friend,
Mrs. Louise Tremblay, and both of us appreciated the organization of the tour.
The pace was well set and always interesting, the accommodations were excellent
throughout the whole trip and we would certainly recommend your agency as
excellent.
Mr. Edward Xue, our national tour guide, was particularly
outstanding. He conveyed well his knowledge and love of his country but above
all we appreciated his warmth in making sure everyone was satisfied and the
kindness he showed as a human being.
Thank you for a memorable vacation.

Having just returned from our
second Chinapac Tour to China, my family and I would like to commend you for the
quality and value of your tours. All of the travel, restaurant and hotel
accommodations were excellent and Mr. (Edward) Xue Fujun, your national guide
who accompanied us throughout our stay went to extraordinary lengths to ensure
that everyone in our group enjoyed the tour.
We were particularly impressed with the Qian Long Cruiser.
This dragon ship of the Yangtze is indeed worthy of its "Emperor’s Boat"
title. The Chinese embellishments and ambiance of this cruiser (which conjure up
images of the Orient Express) combined with the roominess and private balcony of
the cabins are ideally suited for tour cruises on the Yangtze River. The crew
members could not have made us feel more welcome. They have the quickest,
friendliest smiles in the orient and all look like China dolls.
As seasoned travelers who have traveled much of the world,
we are not easily impressed. Thank you for making both our Chinapac tours so
flawlessly enjoyable.
Yours truly,

I have just returned from a
tour of China with Fr. Lou and would like to commend Chinapac International for
a most wonderful tour. We were fortunate to visit so many places in such a short
time.
All area guides were knowledgeable and thorough in their
presentations. My only regret is that I did not bring a tape recorder.
I was especially impressed with Helen Li, our national
guide, who was outstanding. She was friendly, patient, efficient, helpful and
spoke fluent English.
It was a great pleasure to be in first class hotels and to
enjoy their excellent breakfast buffets. All other meals were also very good and
plentiful.
The group responded well to Fr. Lou’s friendliness and
sense of humor. I think everyone would agree that this trip was fantastic and
thoroughly enjoyed by all.
I highly recommend Chinapac International to anyone who
may be considering a trip to China.
Sincerely,

Group to Beijing, November 1998
On November 2nd, my mother
Natasha, and myself took a group of 39 people to Beijing for a tour put together
by Tempo Travel and ChinaPac.
On returning to Beijing this November, our group had
requested our February tour guide for this trip. When a gentleman named Winston
approached us at the airport instead, we were disappointed - but that was
remedied within the hour. Winston was incredible! He is very personable, always
willing to lend a hand, is very knowledgeable about the city (not just the sites
on our itinerary), and was completely adored by all of our clients. Winston made
each client feel that he cared about them, not just the group as a whole. Clients
would come up to my mother and I and tell them how Winston bargained on their
behalf for a better deal, how he showed them something special during sightseeing,
or how he was generally just a great guide. Winston went even so far as to sing
for the tour bus during heavy traffic (and he can sing!). Everyone seemed sorry to
part with Winston, some even extending invitations to Canada! Even in Canada, our
clients still talked about Winston, singing their praises. I have never experienced
such an unreserved and wonderful tour guide - and for an entire group of 39 to
voice the same opinion says alot about Winston.
It is only when someone sees the variety of goods on hand
in both the marketplace and friendship stores that one remembers that so much is
readily produced in China. Freshwater pearls and silks are expected in Beijing,
but on first looking through the "Silk Alley," I was completely taken
aback by the quality and name brands offered directly on the streets. Bargaining
skills a definite plus, I was able to leave with a multitude of in-demand items:
Prada, Versace, Moschino, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vutton, Tag watches, plus
reasonably priced suitcases to pack my bargains in. (And that was just the
morning trip...)
Staying at the four-star Beijing International Hotel, we
found ourselves directly in the city and close proximity to the Silk Alley, many
embassies, shopping centers, and nightime entertainment. The hotel itself was
very comfortable, offering a full western style buffet breakfast every morning
(something that all of our clients, even the ones that didn't eat breakfast at
home, came to relish each morning). The hotel is in walking distance to Tienamin
Square, and the tour bus (the ride never over an hour) comfortably took us to
the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, The Dali Lama Temple, the Summer
Palace, a Cloissonné factory, and many other tourist attractions. What
our clients enjoyed the most out of the tour was the rickshaw ride through the
houtons, where 25% of the population still live. We were taken through the
houton by a local guide, and allowed entrance into a family's home. With this
peek into Beijing life, our clients were better able to appreciate China in a
less commercial way.
The tour itself was practically identical to the other one
I took in February, and it was no less enjoyable. With four extensive days of
touring plus two free days at the end, a tourist can hit most of the sites one
has to see on a trip to China with a knowledgeable and gregarious tour guide.
Four days, our clients have told us, is plenty - the two free days at the end
used to be where one can see the city on their own, to shop again (and again) at
the Silk Market, and even to experiment with various restaurants and areas. Many
people have expressed concern over the diet in China, fearing that would not be
able to eat anything. Some did not take our assurances to heart, bringing their
own munchies in case of emergencies. One woman went so far as to bring a huge
block of emergency cheese from Canada! I am glad to say that no one on our tour
needed to delve into their private food stashes - they were all content with
Chinese cuisine! The diet is lighter than the North American version of Chinese
food, more dishes steamed rather than fried, and not a dessert in sight. And
there was always an alternative to Chinese food: on your own, you could eat well
at Russian restaurants, McDonalds, Hard Rock Cafe Beijing, or even pick up a
club house sandwich at the hotel.
The members of our group were constantly telling us that
the tour was fantastic - some have even asked to be included in next May's trip
already! What made the trip special was a fabulous and caring guide, and the
cultural meccas that Beijing has to offer (as well as the shopping!). The
response was good enough to warrant another trip in May.

We would like to let you know
how pleased we were with our "22 Day Yangtze River Spectacular" tour,
organized through Chinapac International.
We enjoyed the sightseeing very much and the people we had
contact with. The tour included such a variety of activities, from travelling by
boat to visiting ancient places to walking through magnificent caves, that one
could never get bored.
Everybody was courteous, helpful and efficient. In
particular, our guides and drivers excelled in providing professional and
competent service. I would like to ask you, if possible, to convey to Chinapac
how pleased we were with Christa (Beijing), Irene (Xian), Wei (Guilin), Linda
(Chongqing), Wilfred (Wuhan), Tony (Guangzhou), Jamie (Hangzhou), Crystal
(Suzhou), Richard (Shanghai) and all the crew members of the MV Yangtze
President I. They took very good care of us and made our travelling very
relaxed, comfortable and interesting. All the hotels, meals and other
arrangements were excellent. We really cannot find anything needing change or
improvement. If we have to find some "fault," it would be with the
meals. We loved the food; but, so much was offered to us that, at each meal,
some dishes were left hardly touched!
And, lastly, we would like to thank you, Pat and the other
staff at Butte, who facilitated this trip with the usual high-quality service
standards that keep bringing us back to you.
Sincerely,
